Just for the heck of it, here is a picture of some Brasilian beverages. Yep, boxes aren’t just for cereal anymore! The box to the right is a box of milk. You can find it on the shelves at the stores, it doesn’t need to be refrigerated until you open it. How do they do it?? We don’t know. It tastes alright, but I still prefer the fresh stuff, which you can only buy by the liter, and it’s very expensive, so I’m guessing the majority of the population drinks the boxy kind.
The box to the left is one of my favorites, Kero Coco, which is the water from the inside of a green coconut. I have heard that it is even better for you than water, somehow. It’s supposedly the best thing nature has to offer as far as hydration. I am inclined to believe it, it is very refreshing to drink, especially when it’s hot. You can also get the water out of an actual coconut, there are guys that have a whole cart full of them, and they will machette one open for you, they even keep them on ice so you can have coco verde gelado which is coconut green chilled, literally. Mental note to self: take a picture of it next time I have one. This is a constant struggle for me, I never think to take pictures of these sorts of things because they are so normal here, I forget that these kinds of things are probably blog-worthy. Oh well, next time!
