Peixe! (fish!)

In this photo you can get an idea of the clarity of the water in the rivers, and the colors on the fish. This one is probably about 16 inches long, I photographed it on a second day of flotation on the Rio Prata. We actually ate this kind of fish in a resturaunt in town that we heard had a chef who knew how to prepare it well, apparently it’s very bony and not many people bother with trying to get them all out. But this particular cook was known for being able to do it, so we gave it a try. The flesh is flaky and almost buttery in flavor, very good!
