Here you can see Gary doing the prerequisite pose for having your picture taken with the Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) statue in Rio. It sits atop the mountain Corcovado, in the Tijuca forest, and overlooks all of Rio de Janeiro. On clear days you can see it from anywhere in the city, and at night too, as it’s lit by lights.
Fac toids: The statue is 130 feet tall, and weighs 700 tons. Construction started in 1922 and was completed 9 years later.
