Projecto Tamar is a Brasilian organization dedicated to helping sea turtles, many different species of which have nesting sites all up and down the coast of Brasil. Tamar protects nesting sites, hatches turtle eggs and releases the young, rehabilitates injured turtles, and works with local communities to help protect the turtles. There are several Tamar stations thoughout Brasil, this turtle happens to be recouperating at Ubatuba location.
Fa c to id: As of 2007, Project Tamar has released over 8 million baby turtles into the wild after incubating the eggs at various sites, to prevent predation and poaching of the eggs.
