We’ve seen monkeys before but always so briefly that we hadn’t captured any on film, at least until now. There was a group of eight or so in a tree taking a leisurely nap, and with good reason, we were completely drenched in sweat (without fur!) from the five minute walk to find them it was so hot. I wish we had some more video, but we didn’t stay long since we didn’t wanted to be covered in sweat AND a blanket of mosquitoes, of which there are ridiculous amounts in the Pantanal.
(Note to Jeanne & Steve: it’s as bad as the Argentine ‘detour’ even WITH bug spray. Just goes to show when you think you’ve had it bad, it’s always worse someplace else!)
Short video of two monkeys taking a break in the infernally hot afternoon.
